Acquired by his client without a prior visit, the 3,000-square-foot residence revealed a host of challenges, including the need for extensive cosmetic changes to improve layout and flow, asbestos and mold remediation, termite infestations, and a necessary roof replacement.
For Judith Martin, a French-born marketing executive seeking a lifestyle change, the property and its location in the Miracle Mile area of Los Angeles were perfect. Acquiring the house remotely and seeing it for the first time through a Facetime call, Martin immediately sensed its unique charm. However, the residence needed extensive renovations, as previous owners had created a mix of styles over the years, resulting in mismatched elements, peculiar flooring choices, and a disruptive spiral staircase in the living room.
